The problem

A family had put everything their children would need into one folder: wills, powers of attorney, accounts, title deeds, final wishes. Over 100 documents, added over the years, in two countries and two languages.

The folder had all the answers. But no one could tell which doc version was the most current, what was missing or what to do first. When it was finally needed, they'd be piecing it together from scratch.

The approach

So I built one tool that reads the whole folder, sorts it out and tells the family what to do. Then it keeps itself up-to-date on its own.

01

Every document read, dated and sorted, with the current version of each one marked

02

A plain-English list of what's missing or out of date, for the family to fill in and import

03

An interactive first-steps guide that changes depending on what's happened

04

A weekly check that re-reads the folder and updates everything when something changes

The part I love

One button, every next step

When a loved one passes away, there's a lot of paperwork when you're at peak emotional stress. It's hard to get a grip on what's needed and where everything is.

So the dashboard does it for you. You press one button for what's happened, and every step appears in order, each one linked to the document, contact number or bit of info you need.

The outcome
100+ docs
read, dated, classified and sorted
2 sets
of procedures and requirements per country
1 button
that shows the family what to do per scenario

The family went from a folder no one wanted to open to a single page that answers one question: what do we do now. It updates itself every week, so it's still right whenever that day comes.
